My name is Sadra Nasseri, and I am running to be your York Region District School Board Trustee for Richmond Hill Wards 3, 5 & 6.

For the past 10 years, Richmond Hill has been my home. During that time, I have built my career in municipal government, served my community through volunteer work and public boards, and worked with young people as a youth soccer coach. These experiences have shaped my belief that effective public service requires leadership, accountability, and a commitment to delivering results.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Toronto and currently work at the municipal level of government. Through my professional experience, I have gained a strong understanding of government operations, public administration, governance, and the responsibility involved in making decisions that directly affect our communities.

From 2022 to 2025, I served as a citizen member of the Richmond Hill Public Library Board, including as Chair of the Finance Committee. In that role, I was entrusted with overseeing a multi-million-dollar public budget and ensuring that resources were managed responsibly and in the best interests of the community. This experience taught me the importance of careful financial stewardship, transparency, and accountability.

My commitment to serving others has also been recognized through the 2024 Ontario Volunteer Service Award, which I received for my contributions to the community.
As a youth soccer coach, I have the opportunity to work directly with young people and see firsthand the importance of positive mentorship, strong leadership, teamwork, and providing young people with the tools they need to succeed.

I am running for School Trustee because I believe our education system requires trustees who are prepared to lead responsibly, make informed decisions, and advocate strongly for students and families. I will bring my experience in government, financial oversight, community leadership, and youth development to the Board.
I believe public office is a responsibility, not a title. As your Trustee, I will work to ensure that our students are represented, our families are heard, and our public resources are managed with the highest standards of accountability.
